Jessner, ZO Stimulator, ZO Restorative
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are skin-resurfacing treatments that use controlled chemical exfoliation to remove dead skin cells, boost collagen, and reveal brighter, smoother skin. We offer medical-grade peels for a wide range of skin concerns.
About the Service
Overview
How it Works
A solution is applied to the skin to gently slough off the outer layers. Over the next few days, the skin begins to peel, making way for fresh new skin beneath. The depth and intensity of the peel varies based on the solution and your unique skin needs.

The Jessner Peel is a medical-grade chemical exfoliation treatment that removes the top layers of skin to reveal fresher, smoother, more even-toned skin beneath. The solution is gently brushed onto the skin, triggering a peeling process over the following 3–5 days. While some clients experience visible peeling, others may go through what’s known as “micro-peeling,” which is not easily seen without magnification.
This treatment effectively addresses a variety of concerns, including dark spots, melasma, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and fine lines. When performed in a professional setting like Face First Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, Jessner’s solution safely reduces pigment imperfections and restores clarity to the skin.

Post-Care Instructions

- Use gentle moisturizer and high-SPF sunscreen
- Recommended post-care: Alastin Skin Nectar + ZO SPF 50
After the peel, your skin may continue to burn or sting for 20 minutes or more. Your skin will be red, swollen, and tight for the first 24 hours or so. After that, the swelling will go down and your skin will begin peeling. Your skin may darken or even develop brown patches during this time, but the spots rarely stay after the skin has healed. Once the skin begins peeling off, new smooth skin will be revealed. It can take five to seven days after a medium peel to develop new skin, and the redness can last for months in some cases. It can take up to 7–14 days to heal completely and see the full results of the peel. We generally recommend a series of 3 treatments for full potential results. Results vary based on external factors such as skin type, age, weather, lifestyle, and hormones.
It’s important to keep the skin moisturized, avoid picking or peeling, and follow all aftercare instructions provided by your provider. Temporary redness, dryness, and a rough texture are normal and will naturally slough off as your skin heals. Avoid hot water, sweating, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, as these can disrupt the healing process. Protect your skin from the sun using SPF and protective clothing — we recommend our Broad Spectrum SPF 50 and Alastin Skin Nectar for optimal recovery. If needed, makeup can be worn to reduce the appearance of redness or peeling.
